About High Mile Coverage

High Mile Coverage is an independent educational publisher for drivers across the United States who keep their cars for the long haul. We serve owners of older, high-mileage vehicles with plain-language guides on maintenance, repair-or-replace decisions, and how insurance coverage changes as a car ages.

Our story

Most auto content on the web is written for people shopping for a new car or a new policy. High Mile Coverage was built for the millions of drivers doing the opposite, keeping the car they already own for as long as it makes financial sense.

We started because the questions our friends and family kept asking were not answered anywhere without a sales pitch attached. Should I fix this? Is this repair worth it? Do I still need collision on a car worth less than my deductible?

Our editors have backgrounds in consumer publishing, independent automotive journalism, and personal finance education. We bring that same neutral, reader-first approach to every guide.

What we offer

Plain-language guides

Written for owners, not shoppers. No jargon, no upsell.

Decision frameworks

Simple math for repair-or-replace, coverage, and budgeting.

Coverage education

How collision and comprehensive work as a vehicle ages.

Reader-first editorial

Independent, non-commercial, never a lead generator.

Our vision

A future where keeping a car well-maintained is as respected as buying a new one. Where owners have the information they need to make confident, unhurried decisions about a vehicle they already trust.

Why High Mile Coverage

We are not an insurance company, agent, broker, marketplace, quote engine, or lead generation service. We do not sell policies, we do not collect quote information, and we do not share visitor data with insurance carriers, brokers, or lead aggregators.

Our funding model is intentionally independent so our editorial guidance is not tied to any carrier or product. What you read here is written to help you, not to route you.

Insurance regulations, repair costs, and vehicle values change over time. We recommend confirming any time-sensitive information with a licensed professional in your state before acting on it.
